aschlaerth19: Hi! My name is Alexa, and I am a member of the 2018-19 Global Scholars Cohort! I am currently studying both Spanish and Chinese in school, with near fluency in the former and proficiency in the latter. I also am pursuing interests in French and Tagalog outside of school. So far at Poly I have taken World Cultures: Africa, and I plan to take Pilgrimage and International Relations my senior year. I have been on the GIP Baja trip (http://polygipbaja.blogspot.com) and the GIP China trip (http://polygipchina.blogspot.com). In addition, my work on the Polytechnic Upper School Outreach Council, Girl Scouts, and at my parish revolves around global perspectives. Finally, I intend to (tentatively) focus my capstone project on Latin America and Catholicism. I hope you enjoy reading about my journey with global initiatives, scholarship, and citizenship!
